Coil rail transfer cart — enhancing your material handling efficiency. This article introduces you to our coil rail transfer carts from several aspects such as customer projects, working principles, application areas, and maintenance methods. By the end, you will have a comprehensive understanding of how these carts can significantly improve your material handling operations.
A recent Malaysia customer project involved the order of four coil rail transfer carts, designed specifically for handling aluminum coils in a workshop setting. After thorough discussions with the customer, we developed a tailored plan: 20 ton BXC series battery powered rail transfer cart for coil. We installed the U-frame on the table of electric rail transfer cart to help the coil to be better fixed and not fall off during transportation.
Battery powered coil transfer carts are indispensable tools in various industrial fields, particularly for transporting and handling coiled materials or other bulky items. They are easy to operate, highly efficient, and vital for improving logistics operations.
1. Working Principle of Electric Coil Transfer Cart
Battery powered coil transfer trolley is the same as the ordinary rail transfer car in that it runs on rails. Its main components include the cart body, wheelset, transmission device, electronic control system, etc. The only difference is that the BXC series rail transport trolley is battery-powered, and the functions of other devices are basically the same: the transmission device is the core component of the driving wheelset, and the electronic control system controls the movement and speed of coil transfer trolley body to ensure that the cart body runs smoothly on the rail.
The entire rail transfer cart body is the main frame for carrying materials. We use seamless steel plate welding to allow coil transfer carts to withstand a weight of up to 1,500 tons. Of course, the load capacity can be customized according to the tonnage of your transported materials. The wheelset plays a role in connecting coil rail transfer cart body to the rail to achieve smooth movement.
Rail transfer trolleys are widely used across various industrial sectors, including:
1. Mold & Wire & Cable Industry: Ideal for transporting and handling large molds and heavy loads.
2. Steel & Metalworking Industry: Used for transporting coils between machine tools and for stacking and storage.
3. Pipe & Steel Plate Industry: Commonly used for transporting oil pipelines and flat steel plates.
There are indeed many parts of the electric transfer trolley that need maintenance, but the main ones are the wheel axles, motors, batteries, and reducers on electric flat car.
1. Wheel Axles
The wheel axles generally need lubrication and maintenance every 4 to 6 months and should be filled with grease during maintenance.
At the same time, it is necessary to regularly check the wear of wearing parts such as wheels and brakes and replace them in time.
2. Motor
Maintain once every six months, and the grease of the motor should be added to the specified value during lubrication and maintenance. In addition, the motor and reducer should be driven by belts or chains, and the belts or chains should be checked frequently for looseness, and adjusted or replaced in time.
3. Battery
The battery of electric coil transfer cart should be checked every other year, and if the voltage is too low, it should be replaced. Check the battery level regularly to see if it is below the mark, and if necessary, add distilled water in time (check once a month in summer and every 2-3 months in winter).
4. Reducer
After coil rail transfer cart runs for the first 200 hours, the lubricant L-CKC220 or L-CKC320 in the reducer body should be added to the specified value. Whether it is regular inspection or maintenance, it is part of daily life. I hope everyone pays attention to small details to avoid big problems.
