Mecanum wheel on material transfer trolley has the characteristics of all-round mobility, compact structure, flexible movement, strong carrying capacity, and easy control. These characteristics make electric cart have a wide range of application value and development prospects in the fields of automated logistics, intelligent manufacturing, etc.
Trackless transfer bogie—Capable of rotating 360 degrees on the spot and moving freely without the need for rails. With customizable load capacities (1-500 tons) and a robust, user-friendly design, material handling cart is poised to become an indispensable tool in various industrial settings.
Mecanum wheel consists of a hub and many obliquely mounted, self-rotating small rollers. The outer contours of these rollers coincide with the theoretical circumference of the wheel, ensuring the continuity of the wheel’s contact with the ground. The axis of the roller is usually at a 45° angle to the axis of the wheel. This design allows the rollers to rotate freely along their respective axes when the wheel rotates.
When the motor of industrial cart drives the wheel to rotate, the wheel moves forward in a normal direction perpendicular to the drive axis. At the same time, the rollers on the periphery of the wheel also rotate around their own axes driven by friction. Since the rollers are distributed obliquely, their movement direction is decomposed into a forward force component and a lateral force component. The synthesis of these force components enables AGV to achieve all-round movement (including forward movement, lateral movement, oblique movement, rotation, etc.) without changing the direction of the wheel itself.
By precisely controlling the speed and direction of each mecanum wheel of electric trolley, torque in any direction can be synthesized, thereby driving heavy duty industrial cart to move in any direction. This control mechanism enables electric trolley to operate freely in a narrow, complex, and changeable environment, consuming less energy than the traditional differential wheel model and Ackerman model.
